NPR: your developers *need* to get their act together and figure out what's obliterating the battery.
- We heard your feedback about removing shows and programs, so we've brought all the shows back (and added a few new ones) while we continue to work on improving NPR One.
Also, don't worry - we have no plans to retire this app, and are actually working on some exciting new updates This is the NPR application I remember from the past that served me all the content I wanted whether it be daily news stories from many subjects, features of interesting topics or observations of the unique realities of our daily lives.
As of 2015, podcasts were hosted by Robert Smith, Stacey Vanek Smith, David Kestenbaum, Caitlin Kenney, Jacob Goldstein, and Noel King.
Planet Money also provides regular reports for Morning Edition and All Things Considered and occasional episodes of This American Life.
This is definitely my favorite way to consume NPR content.
The issue is that this thing blows through battery like you wouldn't believe - it often consumes 1% a minute and leaves my phone hot even when the screen is off and I'm occupied with other tasks.
When I go to explore and select a story, once it finishes, it either tries to play the story again or goes back to another loading scene.
It does not allow me to skip to the next story or anything. At night when I’m going to sleep with the app, I rarely have this issue. I really don’t understand how they can market it in their radio ads for that purpose.
It’s public radio made personal."By connecting to audio content from other suppliers, including podcasts and locally sourced news programs, NPR One is now a one-stop shop for all sorts of fascinating audio."- NYTimes"NPR One makes the listening experience smarter and more engaging, and plenty of people will want to tune in." - Re/code*A handcrafted experience.*NPR One starts with the latest headlines then moves to a flow of stories that matter - narratives that increase your understanding, create connections, enrich your life and enliven your mind.
