You can’t just point at the guy you want to make out with and then do it. Usually I’m not one to wonder off on my own in order to find a guy to engage in an intellectual conversation with at 1am on a Saturday night. – Got hit on by a very cute guy named Mark who went to school in North Philly too (fate? – Had this guy try to fix something on my car, broke it off, tossed it in my passenger side window, and then asked if he could have my number. – Made out with a friend’s friend who I might actually like. – Got an email from a writer that I’ve had a baby crush on. I am suffocated by pretty dresses, stunning rings and unsolicited advice about my dating life.
Andy and I both grew up in the Monroe area and graduated from Monroe Woodbury high school.
I still remember Andy playing the guitar and singing in backyards during any hang out, but I wanted to write about a more specific recent memory.
He was vying for a spot on the team and had to compete against 75 seventh and eighth grade candidates.
Andy showed tremendous enthusiasm and passion for the game.
I couldn’t wait for the day that I could purchase Andy’s music on itunes and knew the time would come soon.
I reached out to Andy and let him know how much I adored his music and how his lyrics really touched my soul.My older brother, Darren, was in college years later, and called to say that Gavin would be doing a concert nearby him in Buffalo.I traveled up there for the weekend to see that concert with Darren, & I brought that autographed playbill from Fallsburg HS.Some of my earliest memories were from middle school. As a 7th grader, Andy was trying out for the 7th and 8th grade boys’ basketball team.Keep Your Head Up was my anthem at work, because I knew that it takes time to get to where you are going.
